Dear Odders,

I hope you’re all kicking ass and giving life a run for its money.

When someone asks me ‘What’s so odd about your magazine?’ or ‘Why don’t you try to make it famous?’ and better still ‘If you are so Odd, you should reconsider my submission.’. These get my goat, really.

Odd is a small space run by one person with an archaic computer, sitting in a cramped space, in one of the world’s third-world countries. Odd is about defiance and survival. This magazine will never get famous – the Odditor thrives on love and empathy, and juggles daytime jobs. Also, being odd doesn’t mean creative anarchy, it is closer to meaningful alternate creativity, unhindered self-expression, and invisible wounds.

With that, welcome to our silver anniversary issue - and thank you for giving me enough to keep rolling the dice!

Yet again, this little nook of the brave has been graced by smoldering brilliance. I am proud to present:

Odd Poetry: Emmanuel G G Yamba, Jay Passer, Jim Landwehr, Kathleen Hellen, Mathew Friday, Scott C. Kaestner, and Susan Kotler

Odd Shorts: Jack Rousseau, Jamie Brown, Kenneth Pobo, Louella Lester, Paul Beckman, and Stephen Nelson

Odd Art: Belinda Subraman, Michael Noonan, and Serse Luigetti

Odd Interview: Paul Warren interviewed by Gary Cumminskey

I believe almost everyone feels odd once in a while. I say hang on to that feeling, that awkward moment of uncertainty, fear, and possibility that occasionally appears like a tight clenched fist in your chest.

Against the odds,

Always, #StayOdd!
