Hello fabulous people,
I hope all of you are fantastic.
Especially in these times. It is easy to feel hopeless when hawkers are being bulldozed off the streets, children are being separated from their mothers, immigrants are being killed, and Nobel Prize winning authors are using AI.
It is a strange place we are in today. It is time for radical change – we can however wonder where it is going to come from.
I feel just as helpless as most of you. But I am sure of one thing. The art of resistance must gain strength now. Of course we will encounter statements like “poetry cannot stop war,” or “art cannot stop the bombings.” These statements may be true, but there is no way to deny that art is a key form of creating a barricade between good and bad.
How often do we remember art on the walls of a psychiatric ward?
It is that time. Our time to paint and write on walls. Something in red and neon green that will sear into the brain.
It is time to truly be odd, think out-of-the-box, push yourself to write another poem.
