The Best Lie I Can Think Of Jay Passer

The day I lost my virginity.

The juke box at the Frontier Room.

Crawling along the rails, slumped, unconscious,

fetal-curled in a shopping cart.

The following statements are beyond my reckoning to justify.

My finest concoction being a double shot of Wild Turkey,

add 3 squirts of Tabasco.

From that night on

I earned my first gray hair at age 14.

I have never owned an aircraft carrier

or an elephant.

I curse at least 100 miles an hour.

Jay Passer's poetry and prose has appeared in print and online since 1988. His newest manuscript, they lied to when they said everything would be alright, from Pski's Porch Publishing, is available at Amazon. Passer lives and works in San Francisco, the city of his birth.
